What Class 7 Art Chapter 6 Covers
Devotional Music & Rasa (Activity 6.1) examines how community singing of bhajans, sufi kalam, shabads and hymns creates shared devotion and emotional connection between performer and audience.
Ragamala Paintings & Musical Narratives (Activities 6.2–6.5) connects visual art and music through historic Ragamala paintings, guides students to compose soundscapes for stories, and practices active listening.
Songs of devotion: the chapter includes the Urdu prayer song ‘Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Ban Ke Tamanna Meri’, which is both devotional and patriotic. Activity 6.1 asks for the emotion, language and key words of a devotional song you have learnt.
Musical narrative and listening: Activity 6.3 turns a topic from your history textbook, such as Chandragupta Maurya and Kautilya, Prabhavati Gupta, or Chandragupta II and his nine jewels, into a musical story.
