Class 6 Physical Education Unit 4, Fundamental Skills of Handball (हैंडबॉल के आधारभूत कौशल), introduces the fast-paced team sport of handball, training students in passing, catching, dribbling, shooting at goal and defensive blocking.
What Class 6 Physical Education Unit 4 Covers
Passing & Catching the Handball teaches wrist and arm mechanics for accurate Handball Passing (हैंडबॉल पासिंग)—overhead pass, bounce pass and pronation pass—alongside two-handed W-grip Catching (कैचिंग / लपकना) at chest, overhead and low levels.
Shooting & Defensive Blocking trains attacking Shoot the Ball (शूट द बॉल / गेंद से शूट करना) including jump shots and standing throws on goal, and defensive Blocking (ब्लॉकिंग / अवरुद्ध करना) to intercept passes and stop shots before the goal line.
Passing technique: stand with feet shoulder-width apart and the other arm out to shield the ball from a defender. Grip the ball in one hand with fingers spread, slightly above the head, and aim at your teammate’s chest. The throwing arm bends 90° at the elbow behind the head, extends upward, and a flick of the wrist at the highest point sends an accurate pass.
