Kisan Ki Hoshiyari (किसान की होशियारी) is a witty folktale about a farmer who outsmarts a greedy bear three times by knowing which parts of different crops grow above and below the soil. When the bear demands the top part of the crop, the farmer grows potatoes (आलू); when the bear demands the bottom part, the farmer grows wheat (गेहूँ); and when the bear demands both the top leaves and bottom roots, the clever farmer grows sugarcane (गन्ना)!
