What Class 8 Vocational Education Chapter 8 Covers
The project template: a set of guiding questions for planning any school project: what will I be able to do, what will I need, how do I keep myself and others safe, what do I need to know before I start, what did I learn from others, and how will I share my work.
Learning before and from others: projects start by recalling what students already know and trying out tools, materials and basic skills. Reflecting on what classmates and experts taught them builds soft skills and improves the result. Projects can also link subjects through events such as historical re-enactments, science-and-art work or literary performances.
Work with life forms: keyhole garden, using microbes for healthy food, biogas and solar operation, oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) cultivation, and art with bacteria grown on agar.
Work with machines and materials: making a tree guard with a plumb bob, spirit level and metre tape, building an image-recognition AI model for flowers and plants, fitting a household water connection with PVC pipes, apparel design, and preserving food by organic methods.
Work in human services: documenting heritage sites and old homes, personal grooming and mehndi with natural products, creating a school magazine, fundraising by offering services, and setting up a school restaurant for an event. Each sample project lists its periods (about 45–53), materials, steps and learning outcomes.
