Ans. 1. Tommy found a book which was about the school. He found the book funny. It was written a few centuries ago. At that time man used to be a teacher in school and the school had a special building where teachers and kids studied together.

2. Why had Margie started hating her school more than ever?

Ans 2. Margie started hating her school more than ever because her mechanical teacher had been giving test after test in geography and she had been doing worse and worse.

3. What was the complication in the geography sector of Margie’s teacher?

Ans : 3. In geography sector there was a complication. It’s level was set more than Margie’s age. So it was giving too much of homework and test papers which were beyond the level of Margie.

4. ‘Margie thought he would not know how to put it together again.’ Whom do ‘he’ and ‘it’ refer to? Why did Margie not want ‘it’ to be put it together again?

B. ‘How could a man be a teacher?’ says Margie. But we do have human teachers. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a computer as a teacher as compared to a human teacher.

B. The advantages of having a computer as a teacher are: we can do the learning faster. Computer can provide us information about all sorts of things, that too in the comfort of our home. We don’t have to attend a school then. A computer is unbiased and impartial, but there is one disadvantage and that would be that a computer cannot satisfy the curiosity of a student like a human teacher. They can’t teach the students moral values about what is right or wrong. Thus a computer can produce as expert, but not a true individual.
