NCERT Class 6 Sanskrit book PDF (2026-27): the Class 6 Sanskrit textbook is now Deepakam (दीपकम्), which replaced Ruchira Bhag 1 under NCF-SE 2023. It is written for students meeting Sanskrit for the first time: the first two lessons teach the alphabet and conjunct consonants, and the rest build reading through dialogues, songs and stories. The lessons move from naming things (एषः कः? एषा का?) and counting to 50 with Dr. Janardan Hegde’s number song, to stories such as the rabbit who fools the elephant king with the Moon’s reflection, and Madhava’s dream in which his body parts argue over which of them matters most. The last section is a phrasebook for speaking Sanskrit at home and at school.
