About the Samacheer Kalvi 1st Standard Books
In Class 1 the Samacheer Kalvi books follow a three-term pattern. Each term has its own set of books, so a child carries only the lessons for that term. The books are combined: Vol-I covers Tamil and English, and Vol-II covers Mathematics and Environmental Studies (EVS).
The lessons are short and picture-led, with activities, rhymes and QR codes that open videos on the DIKSHA platform. Parents can download every term book below and read the next lessons with their child at home.
How to Use the TN 1st Books for Better Marks
- Read one lesson a day with your child and talk about the pictures.
- Use the QR codes in the book to watch the short videos.
- Download the next term’s book early so the child can preview it.
