Secondary Mathematics for Class 7 is DAV’s maths textbook for the year, with 14 chapters across 262 pages and an answer key on pages 263 to 274. The first three chapters are about rational numbers: what they are, how to add, multiply and divide them, and how they turn into terminating or repeating decimals. After that come exponents, percentages (profit and loss, discount, simple interest) and algebraic expressions. The second half is geometry and data: triangle properties up to Pythagoras, the SSS, SAS, ASA and RHS congruence rules, constructions, area, mean, median and mode, symmetry, and nets of solids.

Chapters are split into numbered worksheets. Triangle and Its Properties has the most, eight, and Exponents and Powers has seven. Linear Equations in One Variable has only two. Most chapters then close with Value Based Questions, Brain Teasers, HOTS problems and a You Must Know summary. Congruent Triangles (pages 163 to 192) is the longest geometry chapter, so leave extra time for it before exams.
